Driver Log Edits Report

To ensure accurate HOS tracking, administrators, drivers, and the Samsara Driver App can suggest edits to the HOS log. A driver can approve, accept, or reject log suggestions. With the Driver Log Edits report (Compliance ( Dashboard_menu_-_compliance.png ) > Log Edits), you can view accepted, rejected, and pending edits to ensure log edits are performed properly and to avoid down-stream issues, such as citation risks and payroll inaccuracies.

When a log edit suggestion is initiated, the suggestion displays in the Pending report. The Driver Log Edits report sorts the status of edit suggestions into driver approved edits in the Accepted report and rejected edits in the Rejected report.

For each edit suggestion, the report displays the following information:

Description

Updated At

Time edit was submitted.

Driver

Name of driver whose log is being edited.

Segment

Timestamp of the beginning and end of the selection.

Updated By

Source of the edit:

  • Driver: The edits were updated by driver. Includes edits suggested by the Samsara Driver App.

  • Admin: The edits were suggested by the administrator. Includes the administrator name.

Duty Status

Duty status or statuses present before and after the edit as represented by the corresponding icon:

  • driving_icon.png Driving

  • on_duty_icon-es.png On Duty

  • yard_move_ym_icon.png Yard Move

  • off_duty_icon-us.png Off Duty

  • personal_conveyance_pm_icon.png Personal Conveyance

  • sleeper_berth_SB_icon.png Sleeper Berth

  • Waiting Time

Duration

Duration of the duty status segment.

Remark

Annotation to explain the edit.

Status

Status of the edit (Pending, Rejected, or Accepted). Edits initiated by the driver display as Accepted.
