Samsara’s integration with HAAS Alert's Safety Cloud® sends safety alerts to approaching motorists whenever vehicle warning lights are activated.
How it works
The Safety Cloud collision prevention service delivers real-time digital alerts to motorists inside their vehicles when roadway operators and incident responders are on-scene and on the move.
When a Samsara-equipped fleet vehicle is actively working in the roadway with its warning lights on, Safety Cloud sends real-time digital alerts to nearby motorists using the Waze navigation system on their phone or vehicle infotainment system. These motorist alerts are triggered 15-20 seconds in advance of a potential collision point, giving the motorists enough time to slow down, move over, and make safer maneuvers. If the fleet vehicle's warning lights are not on, Safety Cloud does not send digital alerts.
System Requirements
-
Customer must connect the Samsara gateway to the vehicle warning lights switch via one of the auxiliary input wires
HAAS Alert built the integration and will assist with deployments as needed. Start by notifying your HAAS Alert rep that you want the Samsara integration. HAAS Alert will guide customers through the following steps:
-
Add HAAS Alert as a Standard Admin User in the customer Samsara org.
-
Create a Read-only Samsara API Token named "HAAS Alert" (for more on how to create an API token, see here).
-
For each gateway, assign one of the available Aux Inputs to ‘Emergency Lights’. Use the same Aux Input on each vehicle whenever possible.
-
If a subset of your vehicles are activating on Safety Cloud, create a “HAAS Alert” Tag and assign applicable gateways to the Tag.
