The Privacy Considerations and templates in this article are specific to Europe.
When you use Samsara products and services, you will likely process personal data of certain data subjects such as your drivers. As part of your implementation and technology rollout, consider the following recommendations for controlling personal data:
-
Perform a data protection impact assessment to help you identify and minimize the data protection risks of your use of such technology. Your Samsara representative can provide you with a working template for you to review, use, and complete according to your particular use cases and compliance requirements.
-
Create a new dash cam privacy policy that governs the specific access and use within the dashboard by your authorized users. Your Samsara representative can also provide you with a working template for you to review, use and complete according to your particular organizational setup.
-
Inform your drivers and any other relevant third-party data subjects of the potential processing of their personal data using signage or stickers and update your privacy notices and statements accordingly.
-
Configure your dashboard to implement data limitation and minimization principles as determined by your data protection impact assessment and applicable laws.
-
Update your accountability records such as your Article 30 records of processing.
In addition to these suggestions, consider any applicable documentation management requirements for your organization.
