Vehicle diagnostics and geofence locations are sent to UpKeep to automatically sync asset data and trigger work orders.
The integration includes the following features:
- Odometer readings & engine hours sync - add meter reading in UpKeep and trigger recurring inspections
- Fault code alerts - trigger inspections/work orders
- Geofence alerts - update parent location of asset & trigger work orders in UpKeep
- Truck locations - update real-time asset locations

Deployment
UpKeep partnered with SwingDev, a 3rd party developer on Samsara's Experts Marketplace, to build this integration. Follow the steps below to get started. If there are any issues, please reach out to UpKeepSupport.
- Log into your Samsara dashboard and navigate to Settings > API Tokens
- Create an API Token within the Samsara dashboard named "UpKeep Integration" (learn about how to create an API token here)
- If you are using Tags, grant Tag Access (default is “Entire Organization”)
- Select the following Scopes for this integration:
- Addresses category
- Read Addresses
- Equipment category
- Read Equipment
- Read Equipment Statistics
- Vehicles category
- Read Vehicles
- Read Vehicle Statistics
- Addresses category
- Send the Samsara API Token to your UpKeep rep and request the Samsara integration
- UpKeep will coordinate the deployment process with SwingDev and will guide you through any remaining steps to enable the integration
