In addition to the standard report options, such as Driver Compliance and Activity reports, you can create a report to view specific data customized to your fleet. You can choose to export the report or save the template to schedule future reports. The report data sets available are dependent on the report type:

Driver Custom Report: Driver-specific information and attributes such as safety and risk related behaviors, compliance data, and fuel-related driving habits. Deactivated drivers will only be included in a report if they were active during the date range selected for the report.

Vehicle & Asset Custom Report: Vehicle and device data such as odometer readings, camera status, and submitted DVIRs.
When you create a custom report, you choose the specific fields, field names, field order, and any applied tags or attributes. To create custom reports, you must be a Full Admin, Standard Admin, or have a custom role with permission to create custom reports.

From the Samsara dashboard, select Reports () > +Create Custom Report.

Choose the Driver or Vehicle & Asset report type that you want to create.

Select Next.

Choose the fields you want to use as columns in your report. To find a specific field, explore the field categories or use the search field.

Optionally, you can expand the scope of the report when you select data columns from the Attributes column selection.
The attributes category is considered a dynamic field category. Every attribute you create will be available as an individual data column ready for selection during report configuration. To learn more about attributes and how to create them, see Attributes.
If an attribute is removed it will also disappear from the column selection. This means if a custom report includes an attribute which is later removed, that custom report will prompt you to create a new report without that attribute as it no longer exists.

Select Next when done.

Format your report:

Enter a descriptive Report Name.

(Optional) Drag () and drop the fields into your preferred order.

(Optional) Rename any fields for which you want to provide a custom name.

(Optional) To add additional columns, click +Add Column.

Save to preview the custom report.

Select Run Report to view all report data.

To edit a custom report, change the filter or date range then Run Report to view the new data set:

Select Run Report to view the new data set, or select Cancel to return to the most recent run.

(Optional) Select Recent runs to view up to three previous runs in the Recent runs drop-down.
Clicking a previous run will enable you to return to a different filter set or date range without having to re-run the report.

Return to the Custom Reports page and select a custom report to perform the following actions:

To export a custom report, select Export and choose an export method (CSV, XLSX, or PDF file).

Select Schedule a Custom Report to be emailed on a recurring cadence to users in your organization.

To reopen the configuration edit modal where you can add, remove, and reorder columns, select Edit Report.

To remove the report from your organization's custom reports, select Delete Report. Deleting the report will delete it for all users in the organization.
