Why do I have to pay upfront for 3 years?
At this time, our policy for customers of your fleet size requires upfront payments for 3 year contracts and we offer a risk-free 30 day return period subject to our Product Refund Request policy at https://www.samsara.com/support/hardware-warranty if you decide our platform doesn’t meet your needs.
What’s included in this payment? What does it cover?
Your upfront payment covers the cost of your entire Samsara Software License for the 3 year term. This license includes as applicable the associated hardware, cloud software, cables, ongoing firmware updates, and cellular data connectivity for cellular gateways.
Why does the size of my fleet matter (2 or less vehicles)?
We often find that larger organizations get the most out of their investment in Samsara because they’re looking to digitize across multiple parts of their operations, rather than a single use case. With this in mind, our pricing terms are designed to help you evaluate whether or not our technology is the best fit for your needs.
That is a very large commitment for me. What if I’m unsure about the product?

If I pay upfront, can I do a 1 or 2 year contract?
Right now, the required minimum contract duration is a 3-year contract.
Can I pay monthly/annually if I pay for the hardware?
This is not an option for 2 or less vehicles. Your purchase is for a 3 year license that includes as applicable the associated hardware, cloud software, cables, ongoing firmware updates, cellular data connectivity for cellular gateways, and support.
Can I pay monthly/annually if I do not need any support?
At this time, we do not offer payment terms or pricing options by not offering support.
Are licenses transferable between organizations?
Licenses are not transferable between organizations.

What products do I need to purchase to take advantage of Samsara's ELD features?
In order to take advantage of Samsara's ELD features a vehicle gateway and corresponding full vehicle gateway license is required. All ELD features are included with the purchase of a vehicle gateway and corresponding full license.
Can I purchase a dash camera without a corresponding vehicle gateway (VG) license?
Yes, dash cameras can be purchased without the purchase of a vehicle gateway license. To do so, please select the "Standalone License and Hardware" product option on either our CM31 or CM32 products. Standalone cameras should only be purchased if you do not need vehicle gateway functionalities (e.g. Hours of Service, routing, documents, ELD, etc.)
What is the contract length for licenses?
All products sold come with a standard 3 year (36 month) contract.
How do I know if these products are compatible with my vehicle?
Our vehicle gateway is compatible with most vehicles. However, if you're unsure about the compatibility of our products with your vehicle please reach out to our Support Team at firstname.lastname@example.org. I received the incorrect cable with my order. How do I fix this?

What is Samsara’s return policy?
We want to make sure that you are happy with our products and are able to try the service in your fleet without risk. If you are not fully satisfied, you may cancel the Service and return the Products to Samsara at any point within the first thirty (30) days after your order ships subject to our Product Refund Request policy at https://www.samsara.com/support/hardware-warranty. You can cancel your service by sending an email to Express-Returns@samsara.com.
Upon receipt of your timely cancellation request and subject to our Product Refund Request policy, we will send a return authorization, including return instructions and a pre-paid return shipping label for the hardware. A refund for any payments made will be processed as described in our Product Refund Request policy. We are unable to process returns that are submitted without a return authorization, that are initiated after the first thirty (30) days from shipment, or that are otherwise not in accordance with our Product Refund Request policy.
