Custom administrative roles are used to control user permissions in the Samsara dashboard. Roles can be set at both the Organization and the Tag level and can be used for several different purposes.
Create a Role
- Open Settings > Roles (under User Roles and Permissions) > Add Role. On the following form, name the type of role you want to create.
- Next, select or deselect features you want a user in this type of role to be able to access. The features are categorized by type. Click to unfold any category to view the related features available.
Assigning A Role:
Now, you can edit an existing admin or add a new admin under Settings > Admins. Under "Role" your new custom role will be available to assign to that user.
