Operators should do two things with the HMI: 1. Start / Stop Product Runs and 2. Input Downtime Reasons.
Provide this HMI training video to your operators.
Read additional training below.
1. Start / Stop Product Runs
Why Start Run on the HMI: To get Performance and Quality metrics for OEE.
As a best practice, operators should always Start product runs via the HMI before the physical line runs so that you can get accurate Performance and Quality data. The operators should End product run after the line physically ends.
To learn how to start a product run on the HMI, watch the video link at the top of this article.
Product Runs for Cloud Admins (not Operators):
2. Input Downtime Reasons
When the system detects that the line is down, the screen will go from GREEN (line is up) to ORANGE (line is down). The HMI will automatically prompt the operator to input a downtime reason.
Why Input Downtime Reasons: Provide insight into what is causing the most issues so improvements can be made.
To learn how to input a downtime reason in real-time, watch the video link at the top of this article.
Time Limit: If Operators have 1 hour to enter a reason for a downtime event via the HMI, otherwise it will be reported as "Uncategorized."
