Unboxing your SG01
The Serial Number will be located on the box as well as the SG01. Here are an examples of the serial number:
Verify all components are included:
(1) Site Gateway
(1) Power Cable
(1) 3 foot ethernet cable
(1) Sata Cable
(1) USB 2.0 A-Male to Micro B
(1) Bag spare parts
(2) Mounting Rails
(2) HDD → SSD Rails
Power and Network the Site Gateway
Plug in the power chord to 110-120V AC.
Plug the SG01 into the switch or modem that has access to the Internet.
*Ports 443 and 22 need to be forwarded.
Disclaimer - The ports on the back do not provide access through ethernet currently.
Power the SG01. It may take a couple minutes to boot.
If connected properly, the power light should be Green and the Data light should be Blue
Retrieve the SG01 serial and go to the customer’s dashboard settings
Settings > Gateways > Activate Devices. From there, enter the serial number located on the back or side of the device. Here is an example serial number, GAS5-SD3-DH9. Please preview animation below.
The gateway is defaulted to DHCP and will discover your network. If your network does not have a DHCP server, please reach out to CW-Support@samsara.com.
Verify Site Gateway is Online
After activation, in the Settings > Gateways page you will find your newly activated SG01. Please allow a few minutes and refresh the screen for the dashboard to recognize the SG01's status.
