Industrial dashboard settings
Once logged in, the industrial overview page will default to the Map. Select the settings (gear) icon on the bottom of the left-side navigation panel to access the configuration options for the system and dashboard.
Here you can access and configure organizational information, users roles and permissions, notifications, device configurations, and more.
Organization information: set your org’s name, ID, and logo
Language and region: set the location, timezone, and language for the system.
Connection: If your site has WiFi connectivity, enable the WiFi by entering the necessary credential information.
Advanced: If you are a system administrator, it is important to ensure that the firmware is updated to the most current revision in the Advanced section of the admin controls. It’s also important to ensure that future upgrades to the device firmware are scheduled.
Enter all site/system administrators in for your organization by clicking +Add an organizational administrator.
Administrators need a user email with access to the Samsara cloud platform, and can select from a default set of roles: full admin, read only admin, maintenance, etc.
User roles & permissions
Specialized or custom roles may be defined in this section of the settings. View and/or edit access can be configured across different categories and features in order to enable or disable access to different sites, assets, groups, features, or users.
Once these custom roles are defined within the dashboard they become available in any role dropdown field (along with admin, read only, etc) for the organization.
Alert contacts: Notifications may be set up after initial alert contacts have been set up in the settings section. To add alert contacts, click on the +Add Contact button, and provide each contact’s name, phone number and email address.
Here you can modify the settings for your sensors, gateways, and third party devices.
To configure the details and notes about the Industrial Gateway, select the three dots, then click Settings.
Now you can edit the device name and include any notes. You also have the option to delete the device here.
