Customers who would like to be able to insert their own fuel cost per gallon can now save a fleet-wide custom fuel cost from Settings > Fuel. Setting a custom fuel cost is not required - if no custom fuel cost is saved, the Estimated Cost column of the Fuel Usage report will continue to use the national average of the cost of a gallon of fuel. The national average is updated weekly.
Customers who know the exact cost per gallon of fuel for their fleet, or who only operate in specific cities or regions, may want to use a custom fuel cost instead of the national average fuel cost to refine the Estimated Cost per vehicle and driver in the Fuel Usage report.
Updating the fuel cost will update the Estimated Cost column in the Fuel Usage report and on the Fleet Summary dashboard. The Estimated Cost will always use the most recent custom fuel cost - the fuel cost will not apply retroactively.
To see the fuel cost updated on the fuel usage report, please navigate to Fleet > Reports > Fuel Usage.
The custom fuel cost will apply to all vehicles in the fleet. The fuel cost cannot be applied to single or only some vehicles, and only one cost can be saved at a time.
