Industrial alerts allow you to receive an email, SMS message, or phone call when a specific event occurs.
To configure an alert, select the Alerts icon at the top right corner of the Samsara Dashboard.
Once on the Alerts page, you can view a feed of past alerts as well as currently active alerts in the left pane. Click Create Alert > Data Input.
When creating a new alert, users can name the alert and select one or multiple data inputs to which they’d like to apply the alert.
Select + Add Range to designate the times and days of the week when you would like your alert to be active.
Users can also designate multiple conditions for an alert using different severity levels. By default, these levels are Low, Medium, High, and Critical, but they can be renamed.
Once the value for the alert to trigger is specified, click Notifications and select an existing user from the Add recipient dropdown. Once a recipient is added, you can specify the frequency and type of notifications they will receive when an alert is triggered. Recipients can be notified by text, phone call, or email.
Additional conditions using different values, criticality levels, and recipients can be added by clicking + Add condition. To view all of your configured alerts, go back to the Alerts feed and click the Events dropdown then Configured Alerts.
