Samsara Driver ID tokens automatically sync with Samsara Vehicle Gateways, causing the vehicle’s
actions to automatically be attributed to the correct driver.

In the case that you need to troubleshoot your Driver ID Token, here are some steps to take based on the behavior observed.

Driver assignment does not populate on the dashboard
- Place the driver token directly on top of the gateway and check to see if the assignment populates on Fleet > Overview
- Be sure the token is isolated and not close to any other tokens. The tokens connect via Bluetooth, so ensure that there are no other tokens in range.
- It can take up to 2 minutes for the associated driver to appear on the Dashboard. The name will show in Fleet > Overview > select vehicle
Driver assignment is incorrect
- Ensure that the driver is assigned to the correct token by going to Settings > Drivers > Driver ID
- Be sure the token is isolated and not close to any other tokens. The tokens connect via Bluetooth, so ensure that there are no other tokens in range.
- Check to see if the incorrectly assigned driver is statically assigned to the vehicle by Settings > Drivers > Static Vehicle Assignment. If there is a static assignment for a driver that is not the driver with the token, set the static assignment to "Unassigned".
