(1) Ethernet Enclosure Connection
(3) bags of mounting bolts (labeled 1, 2 and unlabeled)
(1) VS2 Gateway with mounting bracket
(1) VS2 Camera with mounting bracket
(2) Cables - USB-to-USB (1) & 6-pin M? connector to pigtail
Powering up the VS2
Connect the Red and Black pigtail wires to the Positive and Negative terminals respectively
Connect other end of cable with M? connector to VS2 Gateway
Connect VS2 Gateway to VS2 Camera using USB cable
Plug in AC Power Supply. Light on the Gateway and Camera will turn on.
Flashing Amber light on Gateway means it is searching for a connection.
Please note that the VS2 is initially configured for Dynamic IP Address and needs to be physically connected by Ethernet into the same network as your computer. Plugging directly into the VS2 from your computer will not provide the necessary connection.
When properly connected, the flashing Amber light will turn Solid Green which means it has received an IP address and is up to date.
Activating the VS2
Login to your Samsara Dashboard. If you have not received your link to your dashboard, please contact your Account Executive or our Support personnel.
Under your Group name, select "Activate devices"
Enter the Serial Number from the back of the box. It can also be found on the back of the VS2. Once finished, click "Activate Samsara Hardware"
If successful, a confirmation screen will appear
If the S/N is not recognized or if the device has previously been activated, contact our Support.
Under Settings --> Gateways, you will find your newly activated VS2. If you are on the same network, the Status light should be green and the IP address will be visible.
