Not all vehicles send a VIN to the Samsara gateway. In this case, admins can set the VIN manually from the Samsara dashboard.
- From the dashboard, select "Settings" > "Gateways"
- Hover your cursor over the desired gateway (vehicle)
- Note that a dropdown arrow will appear in the right-hand corner of the row
- Select the dropdown arrow
- Select "Settings"
- In the Edit Gateway menu, under VIN, select the "Reset" button
- Type in the correct VIN number
- Scroll down and select the "Save" button to complete the edit
