DVIR is the US name for Walkaround Inspection in the UK.
Mechanics can review all DVIRs and address both unsafe vehicles and individual defects in the Samsara Dashboard.
To resolve a defect:
Navigate to the Maintenance > DVIR.
When resolving a DVIR, users will be able to see all of the Open defects for the vehicle/trailer.
Select the DVIR with the defect you want to resolve.
In the report, select any defects that are resolved.
After all defects are addressed, Resolve the report.
The Samsara Driver App will then show the original DVIR and defect as resolved.
The next driver to use that vehicle will see the resolved issue when he conducts his pre-trip DVIR. He can then verify that the vehicle is safe to drive, sign and save.
The next driver signature will also appear on the original DVIR log with defects, completing the resolution process.
Defects can also be resolved independent of a DVIR being safe/unsafe/resolved.
