To review and triage a safety event from the Safety Inbox, use the following workflow:

From the Samsara dashboard, select Safety (
) > Safety Inbox.

To change the view of results or sort events by priority, modify the filters or view mode settings (for more details, see Viewing and Sorting the Safety Inbox)

To triage a speeding event, see the detailed instructions to Triage Speeding Events.

For all other safety event types, hover over the thumbnail to view a five second video preview or select the event to view the Safety Event Summary and the event video.
If the event occurred on a vehicle that has both an inward and outward-facing video available, the preview displays the outward-facing video. However, if the event involved an inward-facing activity, such as Inattentive Driving or a Policy Violation, the preview displays the inward-facing video.

(Optional) Provide feedback for the safety event video.
Providing regular feedback improves the accuracy of the detection.

To add or remove a behavior label, click EDIT next to the automatic safety event label.
Removing automated labels or adding custom labels helps to improve the automatic detection of these types of safety events. If you add an event label, the new event label displays as a Manual Event in the Safety Overview.

To dismiss the event or mark it for coaching, select a coaching status from the status menu. If the event requires coaching, assign a coach to ensure it enters the coaching workflow.

To continuously monitor the efficacy of your coaching program, view or Schedule a Report or configure alerts.
