Trailers that operate without the primary power from the tractor poses safety risks and compromises real-time location tracking. With the Trailer Moving Without Power alert, admins, drivers, and trailer owners can be notified when trailers have a faulty or loose Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) power connection.
The Trailer Moving Without Power alert triggers when the following conditions are met:
-
Moving: The trailer has moved a distance greater than 1.5 km or the derived speed of the trailer exceeds 15 mph.
-
Unpowered: The trailer has a current voltage below 8000 mV (8 V).
To set a Trailer Moving Without Power alert, specify the duration (minimum 20 minutes to avoid excessive alerts), the alert source (either all trailers or specific trailers) and an optional alert schedule.
To learn more about how to configure an alert, see Alert Configuration. To view all available alert triggers, see Alert Triggers.
