The Vehicle Gateway license includes up to 500MB/month of Wi-Fi data for both Enterprise customers and Express customers. It enables fleets to utilize connected software to improve productivity and customer service. It also allows you to deploy productivity apps including work order management, customer relationship management (CRM), emails, and messaging. Samsara reserves the right to limit access to personal entertainment streaming services.
After the data limit is reached, the wifi hotspot will no longer be available to applications besides the Samsara Driver App. We have found that the 500MB of data usage should be more than sufficient to support the routine use of work productivity applications. Usage of the Samsara Driver App does not count against the data limit and the Driver App will remain fully functional regardless of if the data limit is exceeded. Data will be reset on the first of the month. You can view the current amount of data remaining per Gateway on the Settings Gateway page.
After the data limit is exceeded your device’s wifi management menu may indicate that there is no internet connection despite the fact that the device is connected to the hotspot. This is expected behavior and not an indication that the Driver App will have issues functioning.
