Fleet Viewer Links are shareable links that a Fleet Admin can create to share information about vehicle location or real-time ETAs. This is useful to share fleet information to staff, customers or clients who do not have access to the Samsara Dashboard.
Fleet admins can create 4 different types of Fleet Viewer Links URLs to share statuses on Vehicles, Locations/sites, Recurring Routes, Route stops.
These links are used to view current GPS location and status of all vehicles, a set of tagged vehicles, or a single vehicle.
For a Location
These links are used to view all route stop visits for that address book location. They list route stops from the scheduled status all the way through completion. You can also click view details next to any of the rows to see the fleet viewer by route stop link associated with that stop.
For a Recurring Route
For a Route Stop
These links are associated with a particular route stop and reflect the current status for that route stop (scheduled, en route, arrived, & departed) as well as a real-time map of the vehicle once it is en route. Note: These Fleet Viewer Links are accessed from existing routes from Fleet>Routes.
Creating a Fleet Viewer Link URL
Vehicle, Location and Recurring Route Fleet Viewer Links can be created and configured in Settings.
1. Navigate to the Settings tab on the Samsara Dashboard
2. Click Fleet Viewer
3. Then click Create URL
4. Select the tab corresponding to the type of Fleet Viewer link you'd like to create and proceed to create your shareable link
Route Stop Fleet Viewer Links are automatically created for routes being tracked in Samsara. These links are created for each stop and accessible via the Routes page. To locate these links:
1. Select Fleet on the Samsara Dashboard menu
2. Select Routes
3. Select a specific route from the list
4. Select any of the links on the right side of the page under Fleet Viewer URL
This shareable link will provide real-time vehicle GPS data if the vehicle is en route or will just show the destination if the route is Skipped or Scheduled.
